"Nightmare of a place & treated like meat"

About: Charles Clifford Dental Hospital

Absolutely NO parking....a hospital with no car par facilities, who thought of that idea ? Five spaces outside the hospital, double yellow lines everywhere. Asked no end of people where to park and all just shook their heads in dispair. Very run down looked like one of those old victorian mental hosptials, sadly in need of repair. The Consultant treated me like a piece of meat on a production line ....in and out as quick as you can, didnt even look at me , did not address my concerns had no desire to do so, they were all dismissed. Shown no dignity or respect , my pre-exisiting health condition was challenged. Step out of the "box" we are not all the same, we dont react the same, we are all different. Would have been nice to have been treated as an individual. Felt like I had travelled a long way to be treated badly with no dignity or respect. It was an awful experience the whole thing left me depressed as I got no further forward with my dental worries. Will never ever go back again would sooner loose all my teeth.

Response from Deborah Hopkinson, Patient Experience Co-ordinator, Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

I was very concerned and sorry to read about your experiences of the Charles Clifford Dental Hospital and clearly we do not expect our patients to feel that they were treated in such a way. Please be assured that your Patient Opinion feedback will be escalated to the appropriate senior managers for their attention.

If you are able to contact our patient services team and provide personal details we will be able to investigate your concerns and respond to you personally.

The team can be contacted on telephone number 0114 271 2400 or by emailing pst@sth.nhs.uk

With regard to parking, parking is a problem around the hospital estate but the Trust does have a multi storey car park which is situated at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital which is a short walk away from the Charles Clifford Hospital.

Kind regards.
