Whilst we are fortunate to have a brand new hospital facility what a shame that no real thought has been given to the needs of the users. The reception staff do not appear to have been trained giving incorrect information regards Xray hours and parking facilities. No provision has been made for elderly, infirm or disabled wheelchair users. a. No parking ( Dementia and disabled patients cannot be left on the side of the road whilst you park the car at Regent Rd etc. b. Steep ramp very difficult for me to push another adult up the ramp in a wheelchair. c. Internal doors do not open automatically or even have a hold open facility making pushing a wheelchair through to departments very difficult. d. X ray beds do not adjust sufficiently to allow elderly/infirm patients safe /easy access. I have always opted to take my elderly (81-83 years) parents to Altrincham for blood tests etc as in the past it has been convenient however, I shall now have to reconsider given the difficulties experienced above.
"Poor design and parking facilities."
