"Very satisfied with the level of care for my son"

About: Princess Royal University Hospital (Orpington)

We took my son (age 7) to A&E after he collapsed and had various symptoms. The staff were fantastic from start to finish. We were very happy with the time they took to explain things and the caring way my son was treated. Excellent, thank you for looking after our little man. One thing I would say, which a lot of parents seem to say in general about all hospitals and not a reflection on PRU, just standard hospital procedure ..... I think it would help if a phlebotomist were to take blood from children. It was very upsetting watching 2 different doctors fish around in his veins for blood that just wasn't coming out, before a consultant did it first time. This was the first time for me and a steep learning curve. If we are in this position again and we are told we need blood taken from our children I will request that we go to the phlebotomy department.
