"Regarding blood testing."

About: St Mary's Hospital (Newport)

I recently attended here for a blood test and as a healthcare professional myself, was shocked at the conduct of the phlebotomist who took my blood. The phelbotomist: - Did not wear gloves. - Wiped blood away from my arm with their finger - Had false nails/gel nails which were quite obviously growing out. Despite being behind on the appointment times, their colleague happily sat there and chatted for several minutes after their patient left, when they could have been dealing with another patient. Not on time, very poor infection control techniques, lack of adherance to uniform policy and basic hand hygiene - I didn't see them clean their hands either.
