"Disappointed in response and support"

About: Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust

(as a relative),

my husband has been diagnosed with prostate cancer and having an operation soon. My lovely GP suggested that we get a district nurse visit to help with the procedures that will happen after the prosectomy. I phoned the district nurse office and then they had received the fax. However the procedure is to wait till after the operation and then if there are any problems (99% chance of being incontinent for a short while ) they will visit but not till after I get another referral letter. That would mean getting another appointment with my Doctor and I can buy pads if needed! There was not an ounce of compassion or suggestion. I told the district nurse that cancer was a big emotional word and she needed to find compassion to help her team. I was very disappointed in the response and support.
