"Not told of change of plan at eye clinic"

About: Hairmyres Hospital / Ophthalmology

(as the patient),

I have just returned from an appointment at 2pm. I can't drive because I get drops in my eyes so arranged lifts to and from this appointment which usually can take up to 4 hrs. My lift was arranged for 5pm.

I arrived to be told the nurse was at a conference and won't be getting drops in. I am not happy at this and would like to know why they could not phone and tell me this and I would have just taken my car.

As a result this has cost me a lot of money on transport. It would only have taken a phone call to inform me of this.

I'm really sorry for the inconvenience caused by the lack of communication with you. I've asked my Senior Nurse for Ophthalmology Services to share your feedback with staff and consider how we can make sure this doesn't happen again.

All they have to do is phone and let people know off these changes or cancel the clinic dont see this being a big problem.
