"Good experience"

About: North Middlesex Hospital

After reading all these poor reviews, I must admit that I was really happy to receive quick and professional help. The reception staff is very friendly and helpful and even when a waiting time of 4 hours was announced on the screen I have been seen within 50min (and it was a Saturday night 9pm!) by a triage nurse who sent me immediately to blood test and drip. All nurses there were just lovely and sweet. You could notice that they appreciate a friendly approach as well as I do! After I finished the drip the doctor came and explained my illness in detail. I was back home after just 3.5 hours, feeling much better also due to friendly and professional staff. But I can underline the problem of people I think could have been seen by a GP next day clogging up A&E, also when accompanied by huge families. The waiting area was quite loud - few patients, many family members.

Thanks for your feedback. I am the A&E service manager, g.carter-sandy@nhs.net and will share your comments with the team. You recognised that some people should have gone to their GPs and we hope by advertising and encouraging people to use their GPs first, attendance and waiting times at our A&E will decrease.
