First visit, just for a CT scan - amazing new state of the art building, very very efficient and easy to find your way around ( it's designed like an airport with gates and checkins and lots of human assistants available. Very impressed with the CT suite and the professional, friendly staff. I'd say the working environment has a huge effect on the workforce. Well done NHS

Dear Sarah Jane – thank you for your feedback on the service and facilities within the Brunel Building at Southmead. The new building, and in particular the gate system has received mixed views, and inevitably it is the detractors who have made their views known about the use of gates, so it is reassuring to also receive support for the changes. The environment in the new Brunel Building is a huge improvement on the old Frenchay and Southmead facilities, and many of the benefits it brings cannot be seen, such as the significant drop in infection rates. I believe staff are justifiably proud of the new facilities. Thank you again for taking the time and trouble to post your son’s poor view of Southmead Hospital.
