"very little. I went to A and E ..."

About: Chase Farm Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

very little. I went to A and E for diagnosis following a fall earlier in the day. I was sent to X Ray but the area was empty apprently because the staff had gone for a break of over an hour. The x ray room door was left wide open for anyone to walk in - with no supervision. When the Radiaographer eventually returned, he smelt strongly of stale smoke. He was not helpful in any way whilst I was attempting to get onto the couch and made no conversation whatsoever. The Doctor smelt strongly of curry and I couldn't understand what he was saying.

What could be improved

The Staff should learn communication skills and remember to have a shower and clean clothes before attending patients. Basic hygiene seems to be lacking,.

Anything else?

Staff entering the hospital in their 'uniforms' bringing in and taking out germs with them - they should change into and out of hospital clothes inside the hospital. I would not feel confident in being treated as an in-patient at all. The standard of cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired. More care should be taken with regard to access to eq
