"My bi-lateral hip relacement"

I was diagnosed with severe osteoarthritis in both hips earlier this year and an appt. was made for me to see Mr Drabu early March 2015 at Gatwick Park. The moment he saw my x-rays he informed me there was no point in continuing the consultation there because the NHS in West Sussex will not fund bi-lateral hip replacements. So an appt. was made for me at North Downs Hospital in Caterham. I was very lucky that I had friends and family that were able to ferry me backwards and forwards for the numerous appts. especially as it is not exactly local! I had an extremely successful operation in mid April, and I can't praise Mr Dradu and his staff highly enough. It was just a shame I had to go to another county and rely so heavily on my friends and family for each 40-45min trip. Surely under some special circumstances such as mine exceptions could be made. There was absolutely no point in one hip being done as I could not have taken weight on the other one.
