"Excellent doctor in a&e"

About: Darent Valley Hospital

I went to A&E on Bank Holiday Monday because I`d been to a walk in clinic with abdominal discomfort etc on the preceding Friday and a urine test showed blood in the urine but no infection. I didn`t feel too bad at the weekend but on Monday morning I woke up with a pulsating pain on my lower left side. I decided I should go to A&E to check it out, and I didn`t know if pain might get worse. Waited only a few hours and saw a doctor who was extremely efficient, polite, reassuring and decisive. The doctor thought it might be a kidney stone and went to immediately refer me for a CT scan that day. Unfortunately it was too late so I had to have it the next day, but they gave me what turned out to be very good medication. The doctor explained about kidney stones very carefully and ensured that I understood. I was impressed. If this doctor goes into General Practice I want to know where! Darent Valley is not my nearest hospital but I`ve been here before and have found the staff to be very pleasant and the place looks clean and it is more welcoming than my local hospital

Thank you for taking the time to write this fabulous review. It has been passed onto the A&E Department for them to share with all of their staff. We do hope that you are more comfortable now and pain free. With best wishes The Communications Team Darent Valley Hospital
