Pregnant with my second baby. I didn't want to go to a pre-booking in appointment to learn what to expect during pregnancy as I had already been through this. So when I rang the midwife unit at rake land they said that was no problem and to come along on 10 May at 2pm. My partner took the day off work and we set off to take lane, paid for 2 hours parking and arrived to be sat in a room with a number of others. The midwife began by saying 'if you've had babies before you probably don't want to hear me going on about what you have to eat so you can just go' there were a few shocked faces and we were all of the opinion that we were there to book in. When I questioned this a number of other ladies spoke up top of what their understanding was. The midwife then went on to say, 'well this is what it is' and 'don't shoot the messenger' I said it wasn't the case of shooting the messenger and that it was clear their department was giving out inaccurate info. I was just told to ring then next day. About 4 of us left pretty unhappy. Gives you less confidence than ever in Mistake Lane.
"Booking in but not!!"
