"Eight different beds in eight days"

About: Royal Stoke University Hospital

Our 90 year old mother who had dementia was admitted to A-E on the 10th JAN 2015. 11TH JAN she was on AMU Ward. 12TH JAN she was moved to 121 Ward. In the afternoon of the 12TH we found her in a different area in a different bed. 13TH JAN it was decided by the hospital that she by moved to Brighton House for assessment. 14TH JAN mum sat out of bed all day from 10am till 5pm waiting for the ambulance to take her to B.H.We went to a freezing cold discharge lounge,waited till 6pm to be told no medication was ready, so it was back to ward 121. 15TH JAN Discharged for B.H. but mum was so ill when she got there,the staff called 999 only then were we told she had Pneumonia she was back in A-E on 16TH JAN. 17TH JAN back in Acute medical unit.at 2AM early hours of 18TH JAN moved again up to 122 WARD were she sadly died. Our mum was a lovely lady she did not deserve this treatment in her final days.
