"Neurosurgery and aftercare on going health..."

About: Queen's Hospital (Romford)

Was reassured that my new surgeon is qualified for scull base surgery, after research indeed they are. I needed a team for various complicated areas for extraction, first operation was cancelled due to equipment failure. 2 months delay. After the eventful operation was released within 5 days with verbal consultant feedback all was very well no more worries. I then after leaving the hosp, encounter CSF collection , I was back in hosp, then CSF leaks 3 times on one occasion I was told to go to another hosp, as they didn't have a bed fir me, after several phone complaints I was admitted, but that then led into an infection, more treatment of very strong antibiotics. Another 10 days in hosp. I had a lumbar punch it worked well with the CSF leak, but the staff member drew more fluid causing huge brain pain, they were looking after 10 neuro patients, not right... and another occasion the 10 ml ended up on the floor with about 30 ml, I was left screaming with pain and passed out, under staffed other patients calling for help... Lack of communication with neuro regs to main consultants, when you complain it makes you feel worthless and as if your moaning plus your too ill to deal with it all. Staff nurses are very good, but extremely understaffed on Nero wards., not a happy patient as been told now that one of the tumours had not been extracted and I now need further treatment after being told I'm all clear. See you in the summer, luck I requested a MRI to see why I had pain near my eye. As for pals, say no more. I've had a terrible experience this time around, I just want to be well and to get a life back.
