Went for ankle surgery on this ward was escorted by nurse walked through corridors to other end of hospital to theatres carrying a pillow, arrived early and had to wait 30 mins before going in to theatre.Staff were lovely and moved me into another warmer room until time for my op.Had op then waited over 30 mins to be taken back to ward 5.Was advised to stay overnight in case of complication and told a bed was being arranged .This was at 2.30pm.Was still on was 5 at 8.00pm on a very hard trolley. At 8.25 a bed on ward 28 was found, then when I arrived to bay 3 there were 3 empty beds.Next day was informed I needed a full cast on and Waited until 3.50 before this was done, told I just needed some meds then could go home ,finally got meds at 5.50 and home I went .Lesson Learned if possible go home and return by appointment next day. Just one other point the amount of nursing staff in full uniform travelling to work on the same bus as me was shocking so much for Infection Control in the hospital
