"Visit to A/E"

About: Darent Valley Hospital

I took my husband along to A/Efollowing a fall. The receptionist was competent ( not friendly) the triage nurse chewed gum throughout their assessment. The technician who performed the ECG and requested pain relief for my husband was excellent and had a patient focussed approach . The doctor was thorough and reassuring. the customer service overall was awful. A whole group of nurses at the nurses station laughing and possessing no interest in patients. Completely opposite to the approach in the X-ray dept, both from the reception and the radiographer. On the whole I would not like to reattend.

We are sorry to see that you had such a mixed experience when you came to the hospital. We expect our staff to act professionally and courteously at all times. Thank you for letting us know where this has happened and where it has not. We will share your observations with the department heads. If you should reattend, we hope that you will find the customer service much improved. Kind regards The Communications Team Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust
