"Excellent nursing and care"

About: Manor Hospital

Having broken my ankle at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday 28 March, I was able to dial 999 at 9:10 and was being treated by an ambulance crew at 9:30. After waiting until I was fit enough to move, the crew took me to the Manor Hospital, arriving at about 11:00. I was seen immediately by the Triage team, then sent for X-Rays. These revealed fractures to my right tibia and fibula and a dislocated ankle. The dislocation was dealt with painlessly in A&E and I was then admitted to the hospital as an in-patient. That evening, I was taken to theatre for an ORIF and the bones were pinned under general anaesthetic. Following my surgery, I spent 6 nights as a patient on Ward 10, where I received excellent nursing and care from kind and compassionate staff. This was my tenth admission to hospitals within England and I have never been so well looked after. the Sister and colleagues provided excellent nursing care; the health care workers bathed me every day and were extremely helpful, as was the person who served my meals. Most importantly, every permanent member of staff on Ward 10 did their work with kindness and compassion, treating me as a person rather than a client. It was also wonderful to be visited by the Reverand on Palm Sunday and later by other members of the Chaplaincy team. I owe them all a big thank you! Many thanks to all.
