"Paramedic Response 30th April 2015 going through..."

i was in the process of pulling out across the A629 on the 30th April 2015 at approx 1.30pm on my way to London. I was just around the corner after The Swan pub. I did hear a siren in the distance some 15 seconds earlier. The paramedic was approaching from Huddersfield. There were cars heading into Huddersfield on the other side and my entry to the road was not safe. If those cars had not been there I would have pulled into the road turning right. The Rapid Response vehicle tucked into the bend racing past at a speed of 60+ mph? without siren - I estimate the speed but I have lived in this area for 8 years and never seen such speed on this corner. If I had the radio on or if I had a hearing problem (like my neighbour) and the other side of the road was traffic free the R R driver would not have been able to avoid obliterating at least myself. Can I suggest the siren is kept on through the lights and on the corner and or slow down a bit? The event was witnessed by my neighbour who was as shocked as myself. I appreciate the job they do - and it is fantastic but I felt obliged to write this as I felt I had a very near escape. Nick
