"WOW awards nomination"

I would like to nominate the Endoscopy Team for an award. I was quite nervous when I kept my appointment not knowing exactly how the procedures would feel, but I soon had my mind put at ease by a Staff Nurse who went through all the process with me, helped me to get ready for the gastroscopy and colonoscopy. Once in the treatment room the surgeon allayed my fears re having the endoscopy tube put into my throat as I am asthmatic and was frightened of panicking. The surgeon explained the process and sedation really well and put my mind at rest. The nurse assisting was really lovely too - frequently spoke my name and said everything was going well, which although I was sedated, made me feel reassured and safe. The other team member, again, was helpful with my queries and was very reassuring too. The whole unit was spotlessly clean and tidy and the reception staff friendly and helpful. After the procedures I was constantly monitored until awake and aware enough to enjoy a welcome cup of tea and some toast before the surgeon explained the results of the tests and I was free to go. In all a much better experience than I was expecting. Many Thanks to all Team.
