You hear constantly about the NHS being under pressure for beds. My uncle was suffering from what we suspect is liver cancer. He went for biopsy yesterday and almost collapsed from pain in the waiting area, the nurses were fantastic. They got him settled in a bed with privacy from other hospital users and dealt with him fairly quickly. That was 13:00 he had to wait 4 hrs after the procedure then have a Dr examine him. At 19:30 we got a call that he was ready to come home. But when we got to the hospital he was still waiting for the Dr to see him. The nurses had been trying the Dr since 16:00. By 00:00 we had had enough and he discharged himself. What is the point of trying to manage beds when there is obviously not enough staff. The NHS has been designated under this government and too many managers are on stupid money to do nothing offering no value for money what so ever. We found out that the Dr had gone home earlier leaving my uncle there. Also he is only pain relief at all. I though they were supposed to be compassionate..
"7hr wait for discharge"
