"Phoning people when you are supposed to"

About: Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust / Adult mental health

(as the patient),

I was meant to see a female CPN a few weeks ago or a month ago, I got to Aire Court and the woman would not come out, I heard the woman on reception phone her and tell her I'm here but the woman wouldn't come out, a guy came out a bit later and said that the CPN has left the site, but no woman left Aire Court when I was there. they got a woman from the clinical Lead team to do a assessment on me.

The woman from the clinical Lead team said she will take it to the team meeting and phone me, but she never did, she sent a letter saying that I should go to mental health day service's, but I find it hard to be around people so I will not be going to them. On the letter it say's what she think's, it doesn't say anything about what the team thinks, so was it really taken to a team meeting?

My doctor phoned Aire court and they told her that they will not see me again.

I was sent to Aire court because of my mental health.

I was also sent to Aire Court about medication but Aire Court didn't tell my doctor to give me any medication, so I do not have anything for my mental health.

Also the woman at Aire court was on about looking at my notes from another team I have been in contact with, I didn't give her permission to do this, why has she got the right to look at my other notes when I don't even get to see my notes the that team kept on me?

Aire Court will not let me see a Psychiatrist.

Dear nobodyishelping

I am so sorry this was your experience of contact with Aire Court as this is not what we want for people who use our service. I have looked into this to see what went wrong and was pleased that I was able to have a personal conversation with you to apologise and explain the next steps.

Unfortunately, your assessment appointment had not been booked correctly and the Community Mental Health Nurse was waiting to meet with you at one of our other bases. The Receptionist called to say you had arrived which was when the mistake was noticed. There was a short delay before one of our Clinical Leads was able to meet with you to complete your assessment. I am sorry if this left you feeling that something else had happened

The Clinical Lead you met with did review your notes, this is an important part of collecting information so she had a more fuller understanding of your needs. She understood that you had agreed to this. However, I am sorry if there has been any misunderstanding. The Trust has strict rules on accessing information about people and I am satisfied these were followed. When we spoke you said you had seen your notes, this is something we can help with if in the future you would like to see them.

The Clinical Lead did discuss her assessment with a Consultant Psychiatrist, this is our usual practice and helps to make sure the assessment and care plan is thorough, holistic and helps with our quality assurance processes.

During our discussion I was able to let you know that one of the Nurses would be contacting you to offer you some sessions to assist with your recovery. A letter has been sent to you with an appointment. If you think medication would help you can discuss this when you meet.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to speak with you and answer your questions.

Once again I am sorry your initial contact with Aire Court was not as helpful as I would have liked.

Kind regards

Sue McCartney

Update posted by nobodyishelping (the patient)

I wasn't allowed to see the notes the other services kept on me but the Clinical Lead woman has had a look. I've already had a look at my mental health notes,.

When you phoned me you said that the CPN was waiting for me at Brook house, I've Google that name and they's no such thing, the only Brook is for young people which gives information on their health, relationships and lives and they do not have CPN there.

Why have you given me the same CPN that wouldn't come down in the first place?

You said on the phone that CPN is only there to help me go to groups and nothing more, so why have you put about medication?
