"A&E Visit Sunday 29/03/2015"

Absolutely excellent, first class service! I can recommend this hospital to anyone. While visiting friends near Hexham I was knocked over by a cyclist and injured my wrist, elbow and arm quite badly in the fall. My friends suggested I visited Hexham A&E and I went on a Sunday at Lunch time. Even though I was not local the receptionist dealt with me quickly and efficiently. I was seen by the triage nurse within 15 minutes and then a doctor within a further 20 minutes. They suggested x-rays and even booked me in and took me down for them. On return from x-ray I only waited 20 minutes for the results and to see the doctor again. They explained I had a fracture of the radial head and booked an appointment for me at the trauma clinic the next day at 10:50. In total I was only in A&E for less than 1.5 hours- in many A&E depts I wouldn't even see anyone in that time! The next day I was seen within 10 minutes of my appointment time, treated and was on my way by 11:30. Excellent!
