I have recently had breast surgery on ward 4 and cannot fault the surgeon and the staff in the theatre. this can not be said of the nurses looking after myself and other patients. I have been in this ward before and this experience I had was not the same? I was kept in for 2 days and on the day of release felt very unwell and was sick and in a lot of pain. I was told I was going home and I had not been seen by a doctor as I had been in the toilet when they arrived and then left. I got very upset explaining I did not feel well enough to go home and was advised by a staff nurse to get dressed and wait in the lounge. My neighbour from home was also in the bed opposite and was crying out to go on a bed pan the night before and even though I was also in great pain I tried to help help by getting up and speaking to the staff who then ignored a 99yrs old women and told me off for trying to help her when they didn't. It is a great pity that all the hard work that the surgeons do is lost due to a few individuals that lack care and attention.
