"Very rude staff and miss diagnosis"

About: Alexandra Hospital

I am utterly disgusted with the a&he department, We had to come yesterday after picking my 17 month of daughter up early from the child minders, with a temperature of 40! We were told we had to be seen with in two hours and our gp couldn't accomendate that so was advised to go down to a&e and wait! Barring in mind my daughter had the shivers was turning blue but had a temp of 40 the doctor we saw told us she was absolutely healthy and that there was nothing wrong with her what so ever, bearing in mind the doctor didn't check her ears or mouth or anything for infection! And the fact they got up half way through our consultation and walked out the room with no excuse me or sorry or anything just got up and walked off! Anyway with not being satisfied with what the doctor was telling me I rang back my gp and explained and managed to get a cancellation! My gp did more thorough tests on my daughter to then diagnose a very bad case of the flu! Clearly my daughter wasn't well, we just felt we had been sorted quickly because there were other patients! We was most definitely not happy what so ever!!

Nat, Thank you for your email; we're very sorry to hear of the problems you experienced when you brought your daughter to A&E, as this is not the standard of care that we want to deliver. It would be helpful if you could email us at patientservices.dept@worcsacute.nhs.uk with your name and contact number, and referring to these details, this will enable us to look into this for you and arrange for some feedback on actions taken.
