"Positive experience"

About: St Mary's Hospital (Melton Mowbray)

I transferred to St Mary's after giving birth at LGH. I stayed for 4 nights and the staff there couldn't have been more helpful or supportive. I wanted breastfeeding support after a very difficult experience with my first child, and they took so much time helping me, answering all my questions and generally encouraging me. Without them I would definitely not have breastfed this time round and 8 weeks in it is going well. The atmosphere on the ward was calm and very quiet - I had the place to myself for 3 nights which I was told isn't very common! I would encourage any woman to give birth at or transfer to St Mary's post birth for their aftercare. We need to keep these midwife led units open - they are invaluable and I hope to use it again if I have a third child! Thanks again to all at St Mary's, you do an amazing job.
