I am not sure why this hospital has 4 stars I have visit d many times over te years and although I try to be polite wait my turn etc. i still find it terrible. My daughter went there after collapsing twice. After her assessment it was decided she should see the GP a Gp had sent her to the hospital not realising I stand waited for overran hour, all the while holding my daughter up and trying to keep her talking.. After the hour a doctor who had been sitting in on the assessment room came over and changed it so that she could be seen by A&E, they whispered to me that they felt they should have done this in the first place. My daughter was severely dehydrated through illness and was eventually put on fluids and stayed in A&E until there was improvement this took several hours. Although the doctor who treated my daughter was concerned of her condition and seemed shocked to think the assessment did not think passing out cold warranted being investigated they could not really comment. However I dread to think what may have happened if I had continued to sit there. The nurse that did the assessment could not be bothered and seemed very cold almost arguing with my daughter This nurse was in a senior position wearing a navy uniform it is very worrying. I think the good reviews must be from family as I am yet to speak with someone who does not have a problem at Basildon.
