I dread being referred to this hospital as my experience has always been the same here. Whilst I understand the department being extremely busy and waiting times to always be a minimum of 1 hour, patient care is awful upon consultation. The doctor examined me for a whole 2 mins and barely said a word, when I asked 2 simple questions they were physically rushing me out of the door. I am aware that my injury wasn't the most serious of injuries but as a debilitating injury I would expect a minimal amount of guidance (e.g when to return to work / exercises to encourage healing) Whenever a scan or X-Ray is booked it is this is also done with no guidance whatsoever, total silence and no information. A prior X-Ray was sent to my surgery with a serious typo speaking of "knee" instead of "wrist"... I am a true believer and supporter of the NHS but I would rather travel an extra two hours somewhere less overloaded and receive the adequate care. Could the referral system give you this option in the future? Note: I have visited St Mary's on a number of occasions- not just recently.
