"Bluebell B Ward is dreadful"

About: Queen's Hospital (Romford)

I am sorry to concern you with an issue that I am finding dreadful on Bluebell B Ward. My family member was admitted twice to Bluebell B Ward on both occasions I am sorry to inform you that we were not happy with the service, due to inexperienced nursing staff including senior member of staff when asked is your ward manager there to talk about this situation was advised is not on duty. I'm finding this a serious matter as patient care is at risk. The moment I was alerted is when speaking to the nurse in charge unable to respond to clinical questions which is unacceptable and also I saw with my own eyes a health care assistant unable to walk on the ward how are they able to assist patients when health care assistant is showing concerns walking on her own. Ineffective management is the cause I believe.

Thank you for leaving your comment on NHS Choices. It is concerning to learn that the level of communication and abilities of staff is not what we would expect. We are keen to investigate this for you. Please contact me via our PALS team on 01708 435 454 or email PALS@bhrhospitals.nhs.uk and we will investigate. Yours sincerely, Wendy Matthews Interim Chief Nurse
