"Absolute credit to NHS"

About: Medway Maritime Hospital / Older people's healthcare

(as a relative),

My nan was in medway hospital for 2 months, during this time she received excellent care from the team on Byron ward.

I spent the night before she died with her on the ward, one person stood out to me as being understanding, compassionate, funny and just totally lovely, that person was an aux nurse called Kim. She, along with others provided care that was second to none, making sure both my nan and me were comfortable as could be.

Excellent care. An absolute credit to the NHS.

The availability of doctors for family discussion could have been improved.

Thank you for your recent comments about your nans care.

I was pleased to read that your nan was shown compassion and dignity at such a critical point in her life. The values and behaviours of staff go along way when genuine empathy is clearly demonstrated.

I hope you have some fond memories.

I take on board your comments about family support and communication and have therefore sent this e mail to the division as feedback.

Regards

The Patient Experience Team
