"Waiting!!!"

About: University Hospital (Coventry)

I have been referred by my gp, he contacted the hospital before sending me, in fact he wanted to get an ambulance for me, I have suspected appendicitis, this seems of no importance to the hospital as I have now been in A&E for 3hours! I'm in pain, I have asked how much longer It will be, apparently the surgical Dr is busy! No wonder they get bad reviews, here's another one, if u have a choice, stay clear of this hospital! Maybe they should spend more on more surgical dr's rather than "smoking patrol officers "!

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your experience at University Hospital, Coventry. I am sorry to hear about your experience. All hospitals nationally have targets to see patients within four hours, but I appreciate that is of no comfort if you are in pain. I can assure you that our doctors will always make time for patients, but sometimes are tied up helping people with life threatening injuries or conditions which need immediate attention. We also do not allocate funding to smoking patrol officers but in order to discourage smokers so our patients have a clean environment of care we ask our existing security staff to approach people as part of their daily surveillance. If you would like to discuss aspects of your care further then please contact the Trust’s Patient Advice and Liaison Service on 0800 028 4203. If you would prefer to contact us by e-mail, our address is feedback@uhcw.nhs.uk Alternatively, you can write to us at the following address: PALS University Hospital Clifford Bridge Road Coventry CV2 2DX If you do decide to contact us, please make us aware that you have left comments on the NHS Choices website.
