"I get the feeling it is a very caring department"

About: Good Hope Hospital / General surgery

(as the patient),

I have been referred to Good Hope Endoscopy. As I hadn't heard about my appointment I contacted Endoscopy appointments and spoke to a lady called Sue Marston. Sue was so helpful and sorted out my pre-op assessment straight away.

After having that Sue quickly arranged my appointment for the procedure. She was a credit to Good Hope Hospital and deserves praise. Equally the Nurse I saw for my pre-op was lovely, her name was Jill, she clearly loves her role within the department. I hope when I have my procedure Jill is the one looking after me, although I get the feeling it is a very caring department and whoever I get will be as caring.

Response from Marie Helebert, Patient Services Officer, Patient Services, Heart of England Foundation Trust

Dear Vmj123

Thank you for your feedback regarding the Endoscopy Team and Pre-Operative Assessment at Good Hope Hospital. I am so pleased that you found the team helpful, especially Sue Marston, who helped to arrange your visit with Jill in Pre-Op Assessment.

Patient feedback is hugely important to the trust, whether it is excellent, or less than positive comments, as this helps us to identify things we do well, and also areas that need to be looked at to identify problems and make changes to improve our patient's experience when necessary.

I will ensure your feedback is highlighted to Senior Sister Sarah Hollingshead, Pre-Operative Assessment Service Manager, to Nicky Jennings Endoscopy Service Manager and Chitima James, Matron in The Endoscopy Team who I'm sure will be thrilled to read your comments.

May I wish you well for your procedure and once again, our thanks for taking the time to post your feedback.

Kind Regards

Marie Helebert
