"Disgusting treatment!"

About: William Harvey Hospital

I was taken to hospital last night (second time in a week) with heart/chest pains. I was having a panic attack too as I was so scared, meaning my breathing was all over the place. I also suffer from Ehlers Danlos syndrome, meaning my connective tissue doesn't work properly, meaning my joints dislocate very easily. The ambulance dropped me off and I was sat in the middle of the A&E department (even though there were plenty of beds) for ages with my boyfriend being forced to sit on the floor, while a group of 5 nurses stood by chatting about how happy they were it was nearly home time. I got so bad that I collapsed in a heap on the floor. The nurse sighed and tutted, and dragged me up to a chair by my arm, and I could feel the joint coming out. Luckily my boyfriend screamed at her to get off of me and told her I had Elhers Danlos (blank stare!) and they tried again, ignoring my boyfriends warnings. They ripped my hoop earring out (which they have bent so badly that I'll not be able to wear it again) while doing this and made my ear bleed and didn't even say sorry. Then they just got a bag and told me to breathe into that and walked off saying they couldn't help me. Once the shift change happened I had a lovely nurse and doctor help me out, but it has given me great fear and trepidation to ever return to this hospital, which is going to cause a lot of hassle for myself and family in the future, as I am in hospital frequently with my EDS and chronic pain problems. Absolutely abhorrent treatment from a bored nurse wanting to go home, and nearly dislocating my shoulder!
