I have had both my children at the birth centre and could only describe my experience as amazing. I felt so dignified, respected, helped and welcomed. My second stay lasted over 24 hours where the staff changed 3 times. All 3 shifts were friendly, well informed, wore a smile and behaved as if they really wanted you there. I have never seen staff so patient and well mannered before in my life. The staff are truly colour blind and treat you well at your most vulnerable state. I was so grateful to the fact that i was able to call in the midwives 100 times and nobody got annoyed with how petty my request were. They never left me more than 40seconds waiting and even helped me put my baby to sleep at night so I could rest. The room, food and environment doesn't get anything less than 5 stars. The birthing room was comfortable and offered every tool imaginable for your ideal birth. Everything about this place was spacious. The resting room offered comfort for myself as a patient however so much thought was put in to thinking about the comfort of your birthing partner too. However for me, what really makes this place special are the staff. As I can't buy them all a gift, the least I can do is share my experience. What is so beautiful is the fact that I was recommended the birth centre by a friend who described it in the very same way. As my mother said who was there with me throughout my birth and stay, "Money couldn't buy you this experience and service".
