I came in on Sunday 12th for an ICD procedure on the 13th, I was extremely nervous and apprehensive, but I cannot praise the ward staff and consultants enough. They were kind and helpful, and did their best to cheer me up, which at the time, was no easy task! They took there time to come and see me and discuss through the procedure, and even my doctor came to see personally between procedures to answer some questions I had and offer some reassurance. Unfortunatly I wasnt feeling too well before and after the procedure and was unable to eat any food, but from what my husband tells me, it was tasty. On the day of my discharge my mobile went missing, the nurse had accidently put it in the linen basket for cleaning, but they managed to get it back in time before it went in for a hotwash, so I'm grateful for that to. Going into hospital is always a scary experience, but I feel the staff did their best to make my short stay there as comfortable as possible, and I noticed how kind they were to the elderly patients staying in my ward too, nothing was too much for them, and I have found in previous hospital stays elsewhere this is not always the case. The staff all seem supoortive of each other and that reflects in their work.
