"GP duty doctor"

About: Royal Derby Hospital

I went to the A and E Saturday evening at approx 9:30 with very bad pain on the left side of my face and was seen by a duty GP. They had to be told to examine where the problem could be ( my ear ). I left with 1 codeine tablet knowing I could not get to the chemist the following day till 10 am for further medication so when the tablet effectiveness wore off I was left with the pain.I visited my GP today they informed me immediately I had an ear infection and the medication to sort the problem. Why could,t this doctor given me this level of care.
