I wanted to thank the doctors, nurses and fantastic orthopedic surgeon who supported me through my time in A &E and on the CDU. I was admitted on Wednesday morning with a herniated disc (although I didn't know this until after I had an MRI scan). I was impressed that it was dealt with all on the same day so at least I could stop panicking about why I had such a lack of sensation in my feet and lower back.
The nurses on CDU looked after me so well, think two of them were called Amy. The consultant didn't mess around and sorted out my treatment and scan promptly and had such a lovely manner.
I had tried to be seen on Tuesday evening but the A&E was heaving with a 3 hour wait. I was asked to wait by the receptionist to book in and take a seat but after 30 minutes of not even taking my details I just walked away and went back at 6. 40am the next morning. The care I received once initially seen on the Wednesday was brilliant but unfortunately A&E service was completely overloaded on Tuesday and small children were waiting for over three hours.
