My daughter was admitted as an emergancy to Urology after being seen at the Conquest, I was given her notes in a brown envelope when at Conquest, in these notes all of her regular medications written down I gave these to the nurse on arrival. I rang the ward the following day to ask should I bring these meds in, to be told they knew nothing about them and just bring them in! Four days later a sister asked why the meds were not written on her chart, and why I was bringing them in daily, so I explained why and the sister was not happy. Two days afer my daughter was admitted she was moved from one bay to another at the end of the ward while she slept during the night. When she woke she had no idea where she was, this also is wrong. The day they changed her canula they had trouble finding a vein to insert a new one, it took 13 hours before a new one was eventually put in, which was at 3am (middle of the night ) which ment she was 13 hours late with her antibiotics, not great.The nurses were lovely but overstretched, when my daughter pressed her alarm it took over 30 minutes for someone to come, We still have no diagnosis re cause of my daughters problems, even though an earlier MRI showed things relating to nerve problems in the base of her spine, which she was told a back specialist would look at for her to see if this could be the cause. In the ten days she was in, she did not see a back specialist, so still none the wiser. Now back home with a supra pubic catheter and all that goes with it for 4 weeks or until better. Really I am not impressed with her treatment, nor the Urology department.

Alternatively, she may wish to give her permission for you to take this forward on her behalf. This will enable us to look into these concerns in more detail so that appropriate actions can be taken.
