"Maureen Bowler - Haematology"

About: East Surrey Hospital

This review is completed by Paul - Maureen's son. My mother was treated for Lymphoma in 2009 and following that treatment received a clean bill of health. We were very pleased with the level of care offered at that time. Unfortunately, the cancer has recently returned and she was again referred to East Surrey for further treatment. We were so pleased that the standard of care is still as high - my Mum has seen her consultant already on two occasions, and has had a battery of tests and will shortly start chemo again - she is very positive about it all which I would, in large part, put down to the care she has been given at the Department by all concerned - reception staff through to nurses and the consultant. I have a slightly different way of comparing care to many.My wife suffered from breast cancer while we were living in New York and we had a further scare a few years later while living in Sydney (she has been clear for years) I would just like to say that the care I have seen my Mum experience at East Surrey has been every bit as good as the private care (which was excellent) my wife experienced in the USA and Australia. Keep it up !!! Kind regards Paul

Dear Paul Bowler

Thank you for posting such positive comments about your Mother's care here in the Haematology department at East Surrey Hospital. It is particularly pleasing to read that you felt that the whole team contributed to the experience your mother has had.

It is also interesting to read your comparison between care here and care that you have seen in the USA and Australia. We aim to provide outstanding care to everyone so it is good to read that you see us comparing so well.

I will of course ensure that our haematology colleagues see your kind words.

Best wishes

Ian
