What I liked
The orthopaedic consultant and his registrar were outstanding - spent a great deal of time explaining my operation.
What could be improved
My admission letter for the orthopaedic ward told me to arrive at 7am and that I was on the morning list. On arrival I was told I was in fact the last admission of the day - so I could have eaten/drank. No apology. I was not taken to theatre until 4:30pm and up to 10 minutes before it was not at all clear whether my operation would take place.
Anything else?
I was discharged without a follow-up appointment, despite having been told I should come back to the clinic a week later. It has also been difficult to arrange follow-up physiotherapy.
