"Fracture Clinic"

About: Heartlands Hospital

I was unfortunately involved in a high impact traffic accident in January. Fracture clinic at Heartlands have been probably the most traumatic segment of the whole experience so far. Since 23rd of Jan I have been to fracture clinic perhaps 5 times and have only seen the same doctor on two occasions!! All letters from fracture clinic to my doctor have been contradictory to themselves and to the information I was given in person. At 2 weeks post injury and told I was to stay in cast for another 4 weeks (6week total), I received a letter from clinic requesting my attendance 2 weeks later(4 weeks post injury), when I arrived I could clearly hear what they thought I could not (nobody was expecting me but somehow I had a letter with an appointment), long story short I had my cast removed 2 weeks earlier than I had been told (before it was even X-ray) and told I was to be seen in 4 weeks time and to begin physio in the meantime. Well, here we are almost 9 painful weeks later and guess what? Nothing from the clinic even after I had phoned two weeks ago and told there was no appointment!! So today I phoned again, and surprisingly there's now an appointment for me, on 8th May.. Over 12 weeks after I was told I should be seen. When I said this was not acceptable I was told my doctor had now left the trust, now which doctor would this be exactly because I remember at least two. In the meantime I've had endless problems but nobody will touch me whilst I'm still under the care of the fracture clinic!! This is for summary, today I have spoken with PALS and hope for some support with this matter. Fracture clinic have only increased my suffering during this time and I feel disconnected from my treatment and let down.
