"Treatment after hear attack, followed by quadruple..."

About: King's College Hospital (Denmark Hill)

My husband had a heart attack at home in Kent and was whisked into Kings very fast. Findings were such a surprise as he is slim, low blood pressure and 3.9 cholestrol - we're told he had heart disease and needed quadruple bye- pass and new mitral valve. Shock horror did not know how to react. Doctors and nurses were fantastic - explained everything in simple, east to understand language, plus of course the risks. When you are in this situation you throw yourself into their hands and we did just this. Results so far (op was on Friday 13th March 2015). Just as well we are not superstitious!! The consultant who did the op was the BEST. He came home 8 days later and had a little blip when the rhythm of heart went a bit out of sync. However the consultant's registrar was top person and it was shocked back into touch and seems ok now. Follow ups and advice over phone have been 1 st class - nothing too much trouble for any of the staff. We are the luckiest people to have such a team at Kings. Let us all support them as they need fund raisers for the much needed heli-pad. Thank you all so much for saving my husbands life - there is no price on this, is there? Do not be afraid if you are put into same shoes as we were, you will be in the best place possible in every department.
