From the moment I arrived at the A & E department (Wednesday evening 1st April 2015) until the day I left (Saturday afternoon 4th April 2015). I was treated with care and consideration by all staff I came into contact with. At all stages my treatment was explained to me and any questions I had were readily answered. In the anteroom of the operating theatre a full explanation of what each person who would attend me was given by the person who would be giving it and all questions I had were readily answered, I was pleasantly surprised to be allowed to wear my glasses until the point of anaesthesia because I feel very uncomfortable without them. The glasses were offered to me immediately upon my recovery. Post operative care in Wards 18 and 17 was superb with no pressure to push me out to free up a bed before I felt ready to go. A traumatic time which was made much easier by the superb staff at Bournemouth Hospital. The meals provided during my stay were excellent and of a staggering variety with a very varied menu every day for the three main meals. I can't leave the review without also praising the two ambulance crews who attended me on Wednesday morning and Wednesday evening who did everything they could to ease my pain and reduce the stress I was under. This is the National Health Service at its best and a heartfelt thank you to all who attended me and to all those who continue to maintain the good work of our NHS - thank you all.
