"Feeling ill with a sinus infection"

After the doctors refusing to give me antibiotics for a sinus infection i turned up at the minor injuries unit feeling really unwell on the saturday evening and in a lot of pain and as it was the easter bank holiday weekend i was feeling so poorly i did'nt know what else to do. I was greeted by a very friendly receptionist and sat and waited to be seen. I was seen by the nurse who was lovely and after the nurse had done a quick examination, they gave me some antibiotics which i started that night. What a relief as by the monday i was feeling a whole lot better after having had a sore throat for 10 days as well. I would just like to say thank you so much to the minor injuries unit as also 6months ago they also gave my son antibiotics which helped considerably when he had tonsillitis and the doctors were closed. Thank you to every one your doing a great job!

Response from Bridgwater Community Hospital

Hello Thank you for taking the time to share your recent experience of one of our local MIU departments. I was really sorry to read that you have felt unwell over the Easter period, but also delighted to read that our staff helped you, and that you are now feeling much better. Experiencing pain in the head area is always horrible, (I know from personal experience), so I know what a relief it is when it starts to improve. I am very pleased to share your feedback with the appropriate managers and head of division, and I know that the manager will be happy to cascade your compliments to all of the staff involved. If the Patient Advice and Liaison Service, PALS, can be of assistance to you in the future, please do not hesitate to contact me on 01278 432022 or email me at pals@sompar.nhs.uk With kind regards Karen Howard-Grenville
