"Haematology appointments"

About: Royal Blackburn Hospital

For the forth time in a row my haematology appointment has been changed, I left a comment two years ago which appears to have been removed. I am currently awaiting options on prostate cancer treatment but will have to make a decision without knowing my present state of my leukemia and my appointment has been put back a month. How are people expected to make rational decisions? Is there no coordination between departments?

Response from Royal Blackburn Hospital

Dear Paul First of all apologies I did respond to your comment on the 7th April but NHS Choices have not posted this as yet, so if you have two responses to your concern this is why. I am sorry to hear about your recent experience of care with us, please be assured though that we do not ask NHS Choices to remove comments from our pages it will only be if they themselves have reorganised their pages that it may have disappeared. I did mention on my previous response that if you are able to get in contact with me on the details below I can try and chase up details from the teams concerned? Also if you would like to talk through your visit to us with one of our Patient Experience team so we can understand the bits of your experience that have made this less than satisfactory for you we would really value this so that we can try to improve. You can either contact me (Wendy Stobbs) on 01254 734471 or email me on wendy.stobbs@elht.nhs.uk. Or if you would like to share your experience in confidence with an independent organisation please contact Healthwatch BwD on 01254 504985 or info@healthwatchblackburnwithdarwen.co.uk Many thanks again for commenting and best wishes Wendy Stobbs, Senior Patient Experience Facilitator
