"Little Ashok was born in a caring hospital"

About: Newham General Hospital

I went to the hospital when the contractions started, after the initial assessment, I was asked to go back home as I was dilated just 3 cms, understandable when there many mother's who are/will be required more attention. I waited 24 hours (used Tens machine) and went again, I was dilated enough to get admitted. I was immediately seen by two midwives(one student) who were just wonderful, explained the method of pain killer, asked about my choice. They were considerate to my pain and explained me with patience. When they noticed complication, doctors joined within 3 mins. The baby was examined for hearing, sight, limbs etc. After reading reviewes, I had my reservations about this hospital but my experience have been wonderful, I would recommend it 100%.

Dear dkk Thank you for sharing your experience of our maternity service at Newham. It is great to hear that throughout your labour you were kept fully informed of what was happening. Your feedback has been passed over to the midwifery team to share with the doctors and the students. Lastly, congratulations on the birth of your baby and best wishes for the future. Kind regards Barts Health NHS Trust
