The nurses we met in the clinic were lovely, kind and reasuring for both my son and I. However I have never felt so belittled and unsupported by the two consultants we met. The notes from previous visits had been lost, so they tried to take a history of my recolection of my sons medical history over the last 10 years! I found this very difficult and was made to feel very stupid. The Neurologist then (in my sons words) started hitting him with a stick ..without any explanation. I knew this was to test reflexes, but my son didn't! Nothing was explained to us and I have no idea where we go from here, my son is registrared as partialy sighted but it would appear that they have given up trying to find out why. Unfortunatly as a parent this isn't an option, but I feel abondoned and dismissed. How is that right? I'm sure the rvi does wonderful work, but the eye department and particulary the lead consultant has utterly failed our family.
