"Left completely in limbo"

About: Good Hope Hospital / Accident & emergency

(as the patient),

Today I took myself to G. H. H experiencing bleeding in early pregnancy. I should state this is my 4th pregnancy 1 which has resulted in a live birth, and now subsequently 3 which have ended in early miscarriage. The "treatment" and "care" I received whilst in your majors department this morning was disgusting. My blood pressure was checked and past medical history explained to a nurse who treated me with a prejudged opinion. After previously experiencing terrible standards of care and after being left to bleed for 4 days on a hospital ward without any explanation as to what was actually happening as it appears no members of staff are equipped to deal with miscarriage of a weekend I was understandably anxious and awaiting the same version of events. The prejudged attitude was disgusting as it was as though I was unsure of what was happening to myself even though my previous history had already been explained. When I explained this to the on duty nurse her response was "that's probably what's going to happen again" "you won't be seen today a referral for EPAU will be made and an appointment for their next available date, where you'll probably be sent home with a leaflet" there was 0 compassion, 0 care given to me. The pregnancy was not confirmed, no HCG tests were carried out, my blood pressure was checked and I feel although I was then left to deal with the event without any medical help, assistance or explanation. I was left completely in limbo as to what was actually happening.
