"High risk twin pregnancy"

About: East Surrey Hospital / Maternity

(as the patient),

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone at East Surrey Hospital for their care during my twin pregnancy, from the EPU in the early days, the sonographers, ANDU, Antenatal clinic, Rusper and Burstow Ward I visited them all and in the main the care I received was excellent.

My pregnancy was high risk from the start and I was monitored throughout, I got to know many people, they got to know me and a special mention to Shirley on Burstow Ward who was brilliant after my early than planned caesarean and I was able hours after the birth to see my babies in special care, this meant everything to me and she took time out to take me round and stay with me and made sure we had all we need in the week after the birth as we all had to stay in.

The maternity unit is the busiest I have ever seen it (I have had 3 previous children at East Surrey) and the resources are stretched but everyone there provided in my opinion the best care we could have received and we were extremely happy

Dear Twin mum

Thank you for your kind comments, I will ensure that the teams involved with your care see your post.

It certainly has become much busier in our maternity unit and we are planning for increasing our capacity over the coming years in response to this.

I wish you and your new family members every happiness
