"Excellent maternity service"

We received excellent care from the maternity staff at LRI before, during and after the birth of our daughter. From the Mau staff who said I should come in for monitoring once my labour had started but my baby's movements had slowed down, to the midwife who recognised that I wasn't just in pain when I arrived on the ward but was also stressed so ran me a bath which did the trick to the fantastic surgical team who delivered our daughter safely by c section and the nursery nurse who took my baby to the nursery for a few hours when I was exhausted and in tears on my second night in hospital. The two midwives who dealt with us when we first arrived in the delivery suite could have been more effective but I almost don't want to mention them as everyone else was so good. We understand that all of the staff carry out difficult jobs in difficult circumstances but would want them to know that we will never forget the care, kindness and expertise that led to our daughter arriving safely into the world.
