I have been in the unfortunate position of needing to use the hospital a lot since it has opened. I have been in critical care in A&E a few times and have had a few routine appointments aswell. Firstly with A&E. The staff are outstanding, very attentive and caring. My care was outstanding and I wasn't left wondering what was happening. Any questions myself or family had were answered and I was moved to the ward once I was stable. On the ward I was put in a room alone, I was checked every half hour at least. I have been on wards where I have been put in a corner Nil by mouth and forgotten until I pass out from dehydration at other hospitals because they forget fluids, so to have privacy and be checked on is a bonus. The staff were lovely and made sure my special diet was catered for by contacting the kitchen ahead of time. For routine appointments the system is very simple, you checkin by scanning your letter at the self-checkin points on arrival then go where it tells you. Very straightforward. I haven't had to wait very long for any of my appointments, some I have even been called early for. The new hospital is a vast improvement on the old one, much easier to navigate, and although there are currently some parking issues it is easy to see these will be resolved once the new car park is completed. I'm honestly extremely impressed with the new hospital and how it is being run.
